How LCW Tax Advisory collects, uses and protects personal information. Last updated September 6, 2026.

Who we are

This website is operated for the benefit of LCW Tax Advisory (HK) Limited and LCW Tax Advisory (Canada) Limited (together, "LCW Tax Advisory", "we", "us"). Each entity is responsible for personal data it collects in connection with its own engagements. For privacy matters, contact [email protected].

The laws we follow

We handle personal data in accordance with the Hong Kong Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance (PDPO) for data processed by our Hong Kong entity, and Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) for data processed by our Canadian entity. Where clients are located elsewhere, we apply these standards as our baseline.

What we collect

Through the contact form: your name, email address, phone number if you provide one, country of residence, the topic you select, and the message you write. We email a copy of your submission back to you so you have a record of what you sent.

Alongside a submission, we record the time and some technical detail about the request itself: your IP address, the approximate location (city, region and country) and network provider that address indicates, your browser's user-agent and language preference, the page you submitted from, the page or search that referred you to it, and any campaign parameters in the link you followed. We use this to protect the form from abuse and to understand which pages and campaigns lead people to contact us. It is not combined with tracking across other websites and is not used to build a profile of you.

If you apply for a role: the application form collects what you enter about your work history, education and certifications, together with any CV or resume you upload. Applications reach us by email and are handled as recruitment records.

Through engagements: if you become a client, we collect the information needed to prepare your filings — identity, financial and family information — under a separate engagement letter that governs its use.

Through the website generally: we do not sell personal data, and nothing on this site profiles you for advertising across the web. Where we advertise, we measure whether an ad led to an inquiry — see "Cookies and analytics" below. Our hosting provider (Cloudflare) may process technical logs to deliver and secure the site.

Cookies and analytics

We use privacy-friendly, cookieless analytics (Cloudflare Web Analytics) to understand aggregate, anonymous site usage — this sets no cookies and does not track you across other sites.

We may also use Google Analytics, which does set cookies. Where it is enabled, it loads only after you give consent via the banner shown on your first visit; you may decline, and analytics cookies will not be set. Your choice is kept in your browser's local storage so we do not ask again; you can change your mind at any time by clearing this site's data in your browser.

We advertise through Google Ads, and its conversion measurement runs on this site so we can tell which advertisements lead to an inquiry. Until you accept the banner it operates in a restricted mode that sets no advertising cookies and stores nothing on your device; if you accept, it may set cookies for that measurement. Declining affects neither your use of the site nor your ability to contact us.

Our contact form may use Cloudflare Turnstile to tell humans from bots. It helps protect the form from abuse and is not used to track or profile you.

A note on sensitive financial information

Tax matters are inherently sensitive. The contact form is intended for an outline of your situation only — please do not submit identification numbers (such as SSN, ITIN, HKID or SIN), account numbers, or documents at this stage. After an engagement begins, we collect sensitive material through secure channels rather than by email or web form.

How we use your information

  • To respond to your inquiry and assess whether we can act for you;
  • To perform engagements you instruct us on;
  • To meet professional, legal and regulatory obligations;
  • To protect the website and our systems from abuse;
  • To understand which pages and campaigns lead to inquiries.

We do not send you marketing off the back of an inquiry, and we do not sell or rent personal data to anyone. Noting which campaign brought an inquiry measures our own advertising; it is not marketing directed at you.

Where data is stored and who can see it

Contact-form submissions are transmitted over an encrypted connection and stored in a database hosted on Cloudflare's infrastructure, with a copy delivered to our team by email through Microsoft 365. Access is limited to LCW Tax Advisory personnel who need it to respond to you. Because we operate from Hong Kong and Canada and use international infrastructure providers, your data may be processed outside your own jurisdiction; where it is, we apply the safeguards described in this policy regardless of location.

How long we keep it

Inquiry data is kept for as long as needed to handle your inquiry and for a reasonable period afterwards, then deleted. Client engagement records are retained for the periods required by tax law and professional standards, which can be several years.

Your rights

Subject to applicable law, you may request access to the personal data we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete data we are not required to retain. Hong Kong data subjects have access and correction rights under the PDPO; Canadian data subjects have comparable rights under PIPEDA, including the right to complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada. To exercise any right, email [email protected].

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the practice or the law changes. The date at the top reflects the latest revision; material changes will be flagged on this page.
